About Layla Behind the readings

I’m Layla, a visionary magician whose practice brings together divination, inner vision and disciplined magical study.

I approach this work with curiosity, care and a willingness to question what I think I see. For me, magical practice carries responsibility: in how I interpret, how I communicate and how I respond when something remains unclear.

Truth, balance, responsibility

Rooted in Ma’at

Ma’at, the ancient Egyptian principle of truth, balance and cosmic order, is central to my practice.

For me, that means speaking honestly, recognising the limits of an interpretation and treating the person bringing the question with respect.

A reading can be gentle and still be direct.

My intention is to offer something useful, including when the interpretation is unexpected or challenging.

My method

Convergent sight

I use the phrase “convergent sight” to describe my approach to working with different divination systems.

One deck may bring everyday circumstances into focus. Another may offer a symbolic or archetypal perspective. Reading across systems allows me to compare themes, notice tensions and explore what a first interpretation may have missed.

Agreement between readings is something to examine carefully. So is disagreement. Both require discernment.

The tools I work with include

  • The Quareia Magician’s Deck
  • Mystagogus
  • Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot
  • Spirit Keeper’s Tarot
  • The Wild Unknown Archetypes

The question guides the choice of tools.

The name

Why Aletheia Rose?

ἀλήθειαaletheia
often translated as “unconcealment”
sub rosa
“under the rose”

Aletheia is an ancient Greek word often translated as “unconcealment”. I am drawn to the image of something coming into view, like a figure emerging from shadow into light.

The rose carries another association: sub rosa, “under the rose”, evokes secrecy and discretion. Its place in Rosicrucian symbolism also speaks to my interest in the relationship between spiritual experience and lived reality.

Together, these ideas express something at the heart of my practice: the desire to understand, alongside respect for what remains private or unresolved.

All are welcome here :)

You do not need a background in tarot or magic. You do not need to share my beliefs.

Bring your question and your own judgement. There is room for both.
